K-12 Infrastructure for the Future

  • With so many schools, OUSD's tech team realized that centralizing IT would help it serve far-flung campuses better and prepare it for offering cloud services.
  • In addition to moving to a Unified Computing System from Cisco, Oakland is building a new data center (to complement a new disaster recovery site).
  • The introduction of technology components in curriculums has improved student performance, but to support such tools districtwide requires foundational technologies, OUSD tech leaders point out.
