Nearly a quarter of K–12 administrators surveyed by Clarus Research Group on behalf of Cisco Systems say they are very likely to invest in physical security and notification services over the next year, while 32 percent report that they are somewhat likely to make such investments. Among IT decision-makers, 13 percent are very likely and 32 percent are somewhat likely to do so.
The survey of 600 K–12, community college and university administrators and IT leaders also asked respondents to rate a number of administrative, strategic and technology-related issues on a scale of one to 10, with 10 signifying that an issue is of the highest importance to their institutions. Here are the mean ratings given to various security issues by administrators and IT leaders:
